The Fruit, The Whole Fruit & Nothing But The Fruit..

Okay, I have never really been big on fruits. Not that I don’t love myself some nice pineapples and red grapes, but my problem has always been – the time to go out, pick the fresh and ripe ones (which I could never figure out), then drive back home. Bear in mind that the closest fruit market to my location is about 20 minutes’ drive from my house; I haven’t had good fresh fruits for like a whole year, at least till yesterday evening. I have a lot of Muslim friends who have been observing this holy Ramadan period, it…

#HealthyFoodDiary – Eating for that Summer Body You Want

Summer is fast approaching. If you’re like me you’re probably wondering why you didn’t follow through on that New Year’s resolution to work out every day. Unfortunately there’s not much time to spend in thought or guilt. I must confess I have only worked out 10 times in the last four months, so it’s time to switch gears into beast mode. After trying a number of diets and healthy lifestyle changes I am pretty certain what works for my body and is sustainable. Luckily my body has and will continue to respond quickly to good decisions. I’ll share what works…

If You Tell Them To Cook, They Will Do Shakara…

Women and their wahala sha o, women want you to define everything you do with them! The air you breathe with them, the food you eat with them, everything!!!! How Nkataa.com Saves Marriages Part 3

Abu and Aisha have as a result of our encounter become part of Nkataa. The three of us are fast becoming close friends too. I think I really adore them because they inspire me. I have even had the opportunity of visiting Abu and Aisha’s home, by personally delivering their grocery orders twice. They have also come to the Nkataa headquarters a few times. There just seems to be this connection between Nkataa and…

Consistency in Times of Challenge

No one needs to tell you that things have been challenging… You are probably sat somewhere reading this in a hot dark room with 15% battery life left on your phone. Hopefully this is not the case, but the reality is both light and petrol have been scarce. This can easily affect your mood and your productivity, as doing even the most basic tasks requires more effort. It is understandable to want to scale down your goals and just do the bare minimum. However, I want to encourage you to remain consistent in times of cha(lle)nge. One of my favorite…

How Nkataa.com Saves Marriages Part 2

I wanted to know how I had been involved in something I admired from a distance, so I asked “ sorry I didn’t get that, how did I save your marriage?” Aisha was the first to talk, actually Abu tried to talk first, but then Aisha gave him one look and he fell in submission to her beautiful smile. She said so briefly “I hate going to the market that’s all, nothing deep,” she laughed. In fact we moved on from the topic to how our service and product offerings had improved. Aisha was excited that Nkataa now sells products…
