Bread is one the food items that has arguably reached universal status. Upon arriving a strange place with foreign food items, bread is almost always been the constant savior, the adaptation aid. It’s interesting then that very few people know anything about its transition through the ages.

- In 1912, Austentite Newburg baked the world’s biggest loaf of bread: 162 pounds heavy, 10 feet long and 18 inches wide by 18 inches high. The loaf took an hour to bake and could supply 162 families for a day or one family for 162 days.(one word-WOW)
- Breaking bread is a universal sign of peace.
- The pocket in pita bread is made by steam. The steam puffs up the dough and as the bread cools and flattens, a pocket is made.
